About the Photographer
Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. There are pictures of me at about three years old with a camera in hand, already looking for something worth holding onto.
After high school, I stepped more seriously into senior and wedding photography. At my first wedding shoot I was given an old Pentax SLR and a couple of lenses. That film camera became my trusted companion.
In college, I studied beginning photography with the late John Bennett in Oregon. We photographed on film and developed our own work in the darkroom. I was forever sold on making artistic prints that people could live with in their homes.
I now work digitally, but I still carry that affection for analog photography into every frame. My work focuses on architecture, macro details, and nature, with occasional weddings and senior portraits.
Mountain Skies Photography grew from a desire to help people pause, look again, and notice the beauty that is already around them.
Art in the Ordinary
My goal is to make you stop and see the beauty that is all around you, the kind we often miss because life is moving too quickly.
I am drawn to the details that reward a closer look: weathered architecture, the geometry of a leaf, changing mountain light, and small moments shaped by weather and time.
Each photograph is an invitation to pause. I want the finished print to bring that same sense of wonder into a home and keep revealing something new with every look.
